Keyword competition

What it is: competition (as DataForSEO reports it) measures how many advertisers are bidding on a keyword in Google Ads, on a 0–1 scale. It reflects paid demand, which is related to but different from organic keyword difficulty.

Why it matters: high competition signals commercial value (advertisers want it), while keyword difficulty tells you how hard the organic race is. Reading both together gives a fuller picture of whether a topic is worth pursuing.

Goal: combine paid-competition and organic-difficulty signals to pick the smartest topics.
