Schema markup

Schema markup (structured data) is extra code added to a page that labels its parts for search engines — for example "this is an article", "this is the author", "this is an FAQ".

It does not change what readers see, but it helps Google understand the page and can unlock rich results like FAQ drop-downs and article cards.
