Share of voice

What it is: share of voice is the portion of total search visibility — across a set of keywords — that your site captures compared with competitors. If ten sites compete for a topic and you hold most of the top rankings, you have a high share of voice; if competitors own page one and you’re absent, yours is low.

Why it matters: it reframes SEO from individual rankings to overall presence. Closing competitor gaps directly grows your share of voice — every gap you fill is visibility you take from a competitor.

Goal: grow your slice of search visibility for the topics that matter to your business.
